Informaticity promoting Citizenship and Ethics PDF Print E-mail

EATIS 2007 aims primarily at the production of scientific work around informaticity, but are not limited to. Submitted papers hopefully should deal with issues about transversal services and applications such as Digital Convergence, Ubiquitous, Mobile and Pervasive Computing, for instance. They should be oriented towards community and cultural enhancement, to build knowledge and skills for work, to improve work quality, citizenship participation as well as consumer choice.

Informaticity: the usage of informatics in everyday life

In general, informaticity is to information what electricity is to power and energy. It is the fusion of telecommunications and informatics. It represents the flow of data from broadcast, wireless and satellite, communicated with smart appliances, mobile phones, digital music player, HDTV, radio, GPS, the Web, and small Wi-Fi networks of laptops, PCs and handheld devices. Thus, Informaticity may be supported by Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing using Web 2.0, metadata and syndication technologies (XML, Web Services, RSS, Podcast, etc), among others.

Citizenship and Ethics

Since the success of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Social Development Networks participation in the last event, EATIS 2007 also strongly recommend submissions of papers related to the economy’s tertiary sector. Thus, it is also welcome works submissions about revolutionary research initiatives (like MIT Media Lab 100$ Laptop), open source initiatives and communities (such as the Brazilian Government Open Source Policy), and Informatics (or Social) Entrepreneurship (innovation, marketing, business plans and new trends).
